Ella is 3!

She actually turned three December 29th, which was about 3 months ago, but who's counting.  We had her birthday party on the day of her birthday.  She's developed a small obsession with tutus and dress up so we got her a ballerina cake which she loved.
Trying to hold up 3 fingers

Our present to Ella was a swing set.  It's actually for Ella and Norah's birthdays.  About a week before her birthday, Sloan and Bobby secretly put together as much of the swing set in the garage as they could since it was so cold outside.  It was so hard keeping it a secret from Ella for so long and from keeping her out of the garage.  I taped paper over the window so she couldn't see what was going on in there.  The good thing was that I got the set on sale but the bad thing was that it came in hundreds of pieces that the guys had to assemble themselves.  Bobby was such a huge help!!!

It turned out great and thankfully no pieces were missing! This is Ella seeing it for the first time.  She was so excited!

Her party was later that day.  We just invited family and a couple friends.

Fun Facts About Ella:
  • Things she LOVES- Norah, Dress up (understatement), Duckies, Baths, Swinging, Turning lights out and pretending she or her animals are going night night, Stuffed animals, Shows (Ella the Elephant, Henry Hugglemonster, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood), School
  • She has a bedtime routine she HAS to do every night before she goes to bed.  Sloan or I one read her a book, say our prayers and then Ella wants to tell "jokes", which is really just us saying silly things and us laughing.  Then she says, "hug and kiss" and we literally have to give her about 3 hugs and kisses.  Then as we are walking out the door she ALWAYS says, "where you going"(we answer), then she says, "what are you going to do in there"(we answer), then we have to tell her what we are eating for breakfast in the morning, then she says, "ok close the door".  But we can't just close the door, she makes us say, "ok, I'm gonna close the door".  Then she says I love you and blows a kiss.  Sometimes once is enough but we might have to repeat all or some of that whole routine again before we leave.  No joke.  Sounds crazy, I know.  It definitely sounds more crazy typing it out and reading it then it does actually doing it.  Im sure this will end one day but right now Sloan and I think it's cute and laugh about it.  I know it probably is just a comfort thing for her so we will roll with it.
  • She has been in a big girl bed since about last November and she loves it and we have had no problems so far.
  • She and Norah love to stroll around the block
  • Loves getting Norah "out" of bed in the morning.  Which is really just her climbing in Norah's crib and playing with her.
  • She dresses up EVERYDAY, which we think is so fun and adorable.
Here are some of her dress-up moments:

Ella is so sweet, funny, smart and loving.  She is also very sensitive and gets her feelings hurt very easily.  I was a little worried that when Norah got here she would be jealous and not so nice to her sister but she has been the best big sister to her.  She is always hugging and kissing her, giving her toys, and if Norah ever cries she drops what she's doing and tries to comfort her.  She brings so much joy to our lives and we couldn't be more proud of the sweet little girl that she is! We love you, Ella!!
