8 Months

Well, the little one is 8 months old.  This is the best picture I could get cause she wouldn't sit still, which is a growing habit these days.  I feel like she's grown up so much in the last month. Now that she has become a full blown crawler she has been more independent.  She is literally EVERYWHERE! We definitely have to stay on our toes constantly.  She has tons of personality and is so much fun!  I feel like Sloan and I spend half of our time smiling and laughing while just watching her play. 

Highlights

• She is pulling up on everything (her favorite thing to do at the moment)
• Things that are short enough she will climb up on
• She dances sometimes when music plays
• She babbles and makes all kinds of noises with her mouth and lips
• Still sleeping great and on same sleep schedule
• She's developed a new fascination with dogs (LOVES them!)
• Eating cereal twice a day and a veggie and fruit for supper
• Loves everything she's eaten so far except green beans, we have to alternate those and fruit every other bite so she will eat them
• She will fuss and cry now when her food is all gone (pretty sure she learned that from me)
• She FINALLY knows who "mama" is! I've made Sloan practice with her. (Can't have her just knowing who da da is and not me)  :)
• She still just has one tooth on the bottom but the one beside it is just breaking through
• I don't know if it's because she is cutting a tooth, but lately she is always sticking her tongue out

Going for a ride!

Just us girls

Last Wednesday Sloan and Uncle Scott went on their annual golf trip with some family and friends until Saturday. Kate and Malley stayed with me and Ella while they were gone.  We had so much fun watching the girls interact and Kate and I got to relax and do a lot of catching up.

Ella decided to show off for her company by pulling up in her crib for the first time.

Big Mal is so sweet, he took a long detour after the golf trip just to stop by and see the girls before heading back to Alabama.  Ella was glad he did!

 We all had so much fun and I can't wait to do it again! 

7 Months

Our sweet Ella turned 7 months July 29th.  (I know, I'm a little late) This past month has been a great one! Ella started to crawl, which is really half crawl, half army crawl.  She of course goes after the things that are NOT toys, like dvds, shoes and any type of technology that might be laying around.  

Sleep-  she is still on the same sleep pattern as last month.
Tooth-  just a few days ago Ella's first tooth broke through! It is her bottom, middle, right one.  There is probably a name for that tooth, but I don't know it.  She has been a tad fussy with it but not too bad.  Since the tooth, she has cried when we lay her down to sleep at night cause she wants to be nurtured and held.  I give her baby Tylenol but she still wants to be comforted for some reason.  Maybe it won't last long but I actually haven't minded this too much cause it gives me a chance to cuddle with her :)
Waving- another new trick is that she just learned to wave.  We are pretty excited about this one.
Words she understands- she knows what it means now if we say bite, da da, nite nite, and Ella.  She might know more than that, but that's just what we've picked up on.  

*We went to the doctor yesterday so they could check her weight.  She fell in her percentile last month so they wanted us to come back this month.  She weighs 14lbs 7oz. (10%).  Gained almost a pound from last month.  The doc said she was fine, so we are happy.  I feel like she eats ALL the time though! She nurses 4 times a day and eats solid food 3 times a day.  She is just a lean girl I guess. 


I snuck in her room to take a picture of her sleeping.  This is her favorite sleeping position. On her chest and knees, tush in the air!

I mean really... she is darker than me!
